Independent consumer research and data-driven personal finance site NimbleFins analysed health and lifestyle data to identify the best countries in Europe to raise children. 29 countries were covered in the study that focused on three main fields:
- health & safety: rates of exercise, healthy eating, obesity, vaccinations, etc.
- use of harmful substances: cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, etc.
- educational attainment: English language, computer skills, etc.
According to the study, “Luxembourg shines as a great place for children to grow up healthy and safe”. The country has excellent results for sufficient exercise, good air quality and happiness, and the best measles vaccination rate with 99% of children being vaccinated. The level of education of young people is also very good, with 34% receiving a tertiary degree. The percentage of young people taking drugs is relatively low.
The only country with a better evaluation than Luxembourg is Sweden. Poland is ranked 3rd, followed by Norway and Spain.
