This momentum is highly appreciated by Kevin Muller, CEO and founder of Passbolt. In the space of one month, his startup has received three awards and been positioned among the top cybersecurity solutions in Europe.
In early April, ECSO highlighted the company as the best representative of the European cybersecurity startup ecosystem. This award is all the more valuable as the jury was made up of representatives and well-known experts of the European cyber industry. “I think our solution appealed because it solves the pain points of everyone: the IT teams as well as the regular end users,” Kevin Muller says.
“It comes at the right time”
Passbolt offers a password management solution with a high level of security within a company. “Many investors and IT distributors have contacted us as a result of this award. It comes at the right time because we have reached a sufficient level of maturity with our solution to be ready for scaling at an international level,” he adds.
Best business app and best password manager of the year
A few days later, the company was awarded the prize for the best mobile application for business by the Polish specialist magazine Mobile Trends. A much appreciated reward for an app that was launched just a few months ago.
Just a week later, British hosting provider 20i published its FOSS awards that is based on votes from its users around the world. In the “Password manager” category, Passbolt was in the first place. Again.
Strong growth in Europe
Founded in 2016, Passbolt is one of the most promising startups in Luxembourg. It has been supported by the ecosystem at all stages of its development.
It went through the Fit 4 Start acceleration programme, before obtaining Young Innovative Enterprise funding from the Ministry of the Economy. In the meantime, private-public VC Digital Tech Fund entered among its shareholders.
“Concentrating on managing our growth”
Based at the Technoport, Passbolt employs around twenty people. “We already have around a thousand clients and we are now concentrating on managing our growth,” says Kevin Muller. Growth that is taking on a new dimension.
The company plans to hire “at least” 10 to 15 people in the near future to strengthen its development and sales teams. It should also move into new offices.
